Acknowledgements

The guild awards honors and badges of merit to former or current members of the guild. In addition, the guild may invite an individual from outside the guild to become an Honorary Member of Armatuuri. Badges of merit and honorary memberships are announced at the annual ball, other honors are presented during Wappu.

Badges of Merit

According to Armatuuri’s rules on insignia:

7 § Guild Badge
The guild badge is the official emblem of Armatuuri ry, without the texts above and below the gear. The badge has a diameter of 25 mm and comes in bronze, silver, or gold.

8 § Use of the Badge
The badge is worn similarly to an academic honor. It is worn attached to the guild ribbon or to a rosette made from the ribbon. The right to wear the badge is lifelong.

9 § Awarding of Badges
The awarding of badges of merit is decided by the board of Armatuuri ry in a closed meeting. The badge is awarded along with the guild ribbon. The badge of merit cannot be awarded to a current member of the guild’s board. The guild’s board keeps record of the individuals who have received the badge.

The categories and criteria for awarding badges are:

1) The bronze badge of merit is awarded to a former or current member of Armatuuri ry who has served the guild exceptionally well.

2) The silver badge of merit is awarded to a former or current member of Armatuuri ry who has served the guild with distinction for several years.

3) The gold badge of merit is awarded to a former or current member of Armatuuri ry who has served the guild with distinction for several years, significantly contributed to the development of the guild, and inspired others to become more actively involved in guild activities through their example.

10 § Awarding of Badges
Badges of merit are awarded, if possible, at the annual balls of Armatuuri ry.

Honorary Membership

According to rules of Armatuuri:

6 § Honorary Members
The guild may invite a member who has significantly contributed to the guild to become an honorary member. A person is invited to become an honorary member of the guild when at least 2/3 of the attendees of a guild meeting support the invitation.

Other honors

Since nearly the beginning of the guild, it has been customary for Armatuuri to annually award the Armatuuri Fresher of the Year Honor from the new class of students, as well as two to three honorable mentions. These honors are granted for outstanding guild activity and interest in the teekkari culture.
